Today was absolutely GORGEOUS out! I believe that the weather man just said we are 10 degrees about average. Go MN! My mom and I started the day out with a bio-feedback session for her. This is a 2 hour session that she has with a specialist once a week. I am not going to go into what it does on here…but feel free to Google it! It has a lot to do with energy & frequencies within your body. My mom believes that it really helps her….and (although sometimes sceptical) I have also seen its healing powers. We mostly use this session to increase energy & fight off bacteria…or anything really. After that my mom’s nurse came by for her weekly INR check. We check her INR (thickness of her blood) frequently because my mom is on C0umadin therapy. The therapy is a result of clotting my mom has had 2 different times in the hospital. We haven’t had to deal with any of that for years now….but we stick to the C0umadin to be safe. Anyway, all was well there.
After our exciting morning, we went for a walk. We are so thankful for the Purgatory Creek pond area in EP. It is about 2.4 miles around, and my mom & I love it! We walk around it at least twice a week. It is so pretty…especially in the fall. I put my iPod attached to speakers on my mom’s lap, and we listen to music the entire way around. Since my mom & I are together all of the time…we don’t have too much to say to each other. haha. We both enjoy listening to music. Lately, I have noticed people are much friendlier around the pond. I think that almost everybody said hello to us. One lady even said that she always loves seeing us…and “God Bless”. Wow! That put a smile on my face. I cannot help but feel proud of what my mom and I accomplish everyday. I love that we are able to get out and enjoy the weather. It gets really tough when winter comes. I think all Minnesotan’s become vitamin D deficient in the winter. It really makes a difference, to see that sunshine every day! Lets all pray for a sunny winter! Is there such a thing in MN?
On the subject of walking, we had our annual ALS walk a couple of weeks ago. It was our 5th year walking, and largest group yet! We are so thankful for the love & support of friends and family that join our team. It makes my mom feel so loved! In fact, it makes my entire family feel loved. It is a fresh start to another year of conquering a terrible disease. It is kind of crazy how quickly the walk comes around every year. Time is really flying since I have been back home!
I am going to post a couple of pictures from the walk this year. We were team “Julie’s Eagle Wings”. Thank you if you walked with us…and are reading this!
Prayer for Julie: Pray for continual good health and energy
Thankful: I am thankful to those walkers that pick up their doggie poo! I mean it! Poo is NOT wheelchair friendly, and I sometimes find it challenging to dodge.
