We kept things pretty busy today. And we get to end it with the Twin’s Playoff game! Yeah! We started out the day with my mom’s twin brother Jeff stopping by. I still find it fun & exciting that my mom is a twin. I love to compare them and see their similarities/differences. One thing that they have in common lately, it their love for the Minnesota Twins! Jeff is at the game right now with my cousin…..and we are very envious. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to get my mom to a game next season. She has become a die-hard fan this year. I think that it has something to do with the new ball park, along with the people she can share it with. This includes her family & new son-in-law. There is not a day that we are not watching a game! It drives my sister crazy….as she has not developed this passion as of yet.
So, after our visit we got ready and headed out for another walk at the pond. It was another fantastic day. I realized today, that our walking is similar to meditating. Since we don’t really chat along the way, it gives my mom and I the chance to think and reflect on things. Those times will be what I remember fondly with my mom. After our walk, it was off to Costco. Costco is always one of our favorite places to go. You never know what you are going to find! Costco can also create a challenge because all of the items are so big. Since I have to put things in my mom’s lap…she tends to get buried quickly. I think that people look at us sometimes like… “is that ok with her?”. I always tell them that it is my mom….so it is ok. She gave me her permission! Shopping is her passion, and nothing is holding us back. 🙂
After we got home and mom was tucked back in bed, our friend Jane stopped over. Jane has been a great friend, coming over to see my mom almost every week. Her visits (along with all our visitors) mean so much to us. I welcome anybody to come over and put a smile on my mom’s face! Visits can be what make or break a day around here.
In honor of my turning 32 last week, I am going to post a picture of my mom when she was 32. She was beautiful….and still is! That is me in the high chair with crazy curly hair.
Thankful: I am thankful for the Minnesota Twins & their ability to keep my mom entertained 🙂
